Something wrong? Tell us from inside the app.

In Shepi, choose Help › Send Feedback… or press ⇧⌘/. Describe what happened, paste or drop a screenshot if it helps, and press Send. It goes straight to the developer, with no account and no public page. Add an email address if you would like a reply.

Before you write: the three usual fixes

"Herdr is away"

Shepi is a window onto Herdr and needs its server. Open a terminal and run herdr once; the server keeps going after you close that terminal. If Herdr is not installed: curl -fsSL https://herdr.dev/install.sh | sh. Shepi needs Herdr 0.9.3 or later; check with herdr --version.

The keys in Shepi are not the ones you expect

Shepi reads the bindings from your Herdr config and shows them live. If a hint says ⌃G where you expected ⌃B, that is your keys.prefix in Herdr's config, not a Shepi setting. Shepi never changes that file.

A machine needs attention or does not appear

Add machines from Shepi with Add a machine in the sidebar or Settings › Machines; it runs Herdr's own herdr machine add in a terminal so you can answer its questions. Shepi connects with your own SSH keys, so if ssh you@your-server asks for a password in Terminal, Shepi cannot connect either. A machine that needs attention shows an amber ! in the sidebar; open its group to see the reason and a Reconnect button.

What makes a report easy to fix

  • What you did, what you expected, what happened instead, in one or two lines each.
  • Your macOS version, the Shepi version (Shepi › About Shepi) and herdr --version.
  • A screenshot, a short recording or a log. Send Feedback takes pasted or dropped files, up to 10 and 15 MB in all.
  • If it is about keys: your Herdr config's keys section.

Shepi sends nothing on its own. The report contains what you typed and attached, plus a few lines of context so the problem can be reproduced: the Shepi, Herdr and macOS versions, which view was open, the layout of the focused tab with neutral names (space 1 › tab 2), the last ten shortcuts and menu commands you used, each with its time, and the window size. Never terminal contents, names or paths. "What's included" in the panel shows exactly what will be sent before you send it.

Licenses, purchases and refunds

  • On a new Mac: open Shepi and sign in with the account you bought with (Google, GitHub or X). There is no key to find.
  • No Google, GitHub or X account? Shepi needs one of the three to tie a purchase to; a free GitHub or Google account is enough.
  • Receipts and payment questions: Paddle sold you Shepi; the link in your receipt from Paddle answers those, or look up your order at paddle.net.
  • Refunds: within 30 days, for any reason, through the link in your Paddle receipt, or write to support@shepi.app with the order number.
