Shepi Try free

All your coding agents. One Mac window. Two keys to the one that needs you.

Shepi is a native macOS client for Herdr, the terminal runtime that keeps your agents alive. Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Copilot CLI: every one of them in a real terminal, at once, on this Mac or your servers, with the one that needs you in amber.

Showreel: what Shepi does

01 · attach

The server never stopped. The client just showed up.

Herdr runs your agents in the background. Open Shepi and every space, tab and agent you already have is there, in real terminals, exactly where you left them. A spinner means working, an empty ring means idle, and every state also says its word. The pane you are in is the lighter card; nothing else dims.

02 · needs you

When one of them needs you, you hear about it.

Agents stop to ask before they deploy, delete or install. The agent turns amber in the sidebar, the pane header and the status line, a card shows what it wants to run when the agent says, a banner finds you even with the sidebar folded away, and you hear Herdr's own sound: at the same moments Herdr would, from every machine. Review takes you straight there. Amber means one thing in Shepi: something needs you.

⌃Banext agent that needs you
03 · machines

Agents on your other machines join the same sidebar.

Add any machine you reach over SSH, right from Shepi. Each one gets its own group with its spaces, and every space shows how many agents need you, are working, are done or idle. With a single Mac you never see machines at all.

04 · split

A shell beside the agent, without leaving it.

Split the pane and work next to the agent: open the PR, tail a log, run the tests. The new pane grows into place and the terminal inside resizes once, so nothing jumps.

⌃B-split down⌃Bvsplit right
05 · zoom

Take the whole window. Never lose the others.

One pane fills the window, instantly. The other panes wait tucked behind it, corner marks frame it, the tab and the pane header quietly show you are zoomed, and the same key, or a click, brings your layout back.

⌃Bz
06 · move

Put a pane where the work needs it.

Pick a pane up by its header and the whole layout shows the result before you let go: swap it with another pane, or put it beside, above or below one. Its terminal keeps running the whole time.

07 · find

Every agent on every machine, one line away.

Agents, spaces, panes, machines and recent output, local and over SSH, in one search. Type a word or two, in any order, press Return, and you are there.

⌘F
08 · walk away

Quit Shepi. Come back to everything.

Quit Shepi or close its window: Herdr keeps every agent running, and on your servers they keep going even while this Mac sleeps. Open Shepi again and everything is where you left it. If Shepi lost its connection, the status line says how many panes changed meanwhile.

One idea to learn: the prefix

Everything you type goes straight into the pane you are in. To talk to Shepi instead, press the prefix first, then one key. Herdr's default is Control-B; if you changed it in Herdr, Shepi uses yours, and every hint in the app shows your actual keys.

⌃Bthenv=split the pane to the right
Forgot the next key? Pause.

Press the prefix and wait half a second. A strip appears above the status line with the keys that make sense right now.

Don't know the key at all? Search.

The prefix then ? opens every action with its key. Type what you want, press Return, and it runs.

Rather use the mouse? Go ahead.

Almost every key has a mouse equivalent: click a pane to focus it, drag a gap to resize, right-click for split, rename and close. Every control's tooltip names its keys, so you pick them up as you go.

Start in three steps

Step 1

Install Herdr

Shepi is a window onto Herdr, so Herdr comes first. It is free and open source. Install it. Shepi starts Herdr's server for you, and that server keeps running after you quit Shepi.

curl -fsSL https://herdr.dev/install.sh | sh
Step 2

Get Shepi

Download it and drag it to Applications. Every feature works for 14 days, with no account and no card. When a new version is out, Shepi offers it and installs it in place.

Step 3

Open it

Shepi finds Herdr on its own and shows every space and agent you already have. Nothing to configure. If Herdr's server isn't running, Shepi starts it.

One price. Every update.

Try everything for 14 days first, with no account and no card. Buy once, signed in with Google, GitHub or X, and every future version is yours on all your Macs. Not right for you? Refunds within 30 days, no questions.

Questions

Do I still need Herdr?

Yes. Herdr runs your agents and keeps them alive. Shepi is a window onto it, so you can close Shepi any time and nothing stops.

What does Shepi cost?

$19.99, once, with every future update included. Try it free for 14 days first: every feature, no account, no card. Refunds within 30 days, no questions.

What happens when the trial ends?

Shepi asks you to buy it, or to sign in if you already did. Your agents keep running in Herdr either way, and Herdr's terminal UI keeps working.

Which coding agents work with Shepi?

Anything that runs in a terminal. Every agent Herdr recognizes also shows its state (working, needs you, done or idle). Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Copilot CLI and most others show their own mark, so you can tell them apart at a glance; the rest, and any agent Herdr adds later, show a terminal mark.

Can Shepi show agents on my other machines?

Yes. Add any machine you can reach over SSH from Shepi: Add a machine in the sidebar, or Settings › Machines. Herdr's own setup runs in a terminal inside Shepi, so host keys and passphrases stay in your hands. Each machine gets its own group in the sidebar with its spaces and agent counts. With one Mac, Shepi shows no machine information at all.

Can I hide the sidebar?

Yes, ⇧⌘1 folds it away completely, and Shepi remembers. If an agent needs you while it is hidden, the sidebar button shows a count, the status line says so and a banner appears.

Can I keep using Herdr in the terminal?

Yes. Both show the same spaces, tabs and agents at the same time, with the same keys.

Does Shepi change my Herdr setup?

Only when you ask. It reads Herdr's config for your keys and sound settings and never changes it. Adding, renaming, turning off or removing a machine runs Herdr's own herdr machine commands, so Herdr's terminal UI sees the change too.

What leaves my Mac?

SSH to machines you added yourself; a check that your account bought Shepi, when you sign in (Google, GitHub or X learns that you signed in to Shepi) and when Shepi starts (only your licence is sent), and Paddle's checkout when you buy; a feedback report, only when you press Send; and a check for a new version, only if you allow it. No accounts of ours, no analytics, no crash reports. Details on the privacy page.

How do I use Shepi on another Mac?

Download it and sign in with the account you bought with: Google, GitHub or X. Another of the three with the same email works too. There is no license key to find.

Does Shepi follow my Herdr notification settings?

Yes. Shepi tells you at the moments Herdr plays its sound, when an agent needs you or is done, on every machine, with Herdr's own sounds and the sound settings in your Herdr config.

How do I get help or report a problem?

In Shepi, choose Help › Send Feedback or press ⇧⌘/. Or start at the support page, or write to support@shepi.app.

Is Shepi made by Herdr?

No. Shepi is an independent client built on Herdr's public interface. Not made by or affiliated with the Herdr project.
